1.Super Night Video

Oppo says that the new ColorOS 7.2 will be equipped with Super Night Video Mode.  It claimed that the new automated moonlight video algorithm would increase the overall brightness of a video.  This will be increased to 74%, increasing the clarity of the footage by about 33%.

The company also said that the new camera app, combined with the Reno 4 Series, can be shot in very low light conditions.  This will give a clear, bright video with accurate colors.

2.Movie Mode

The all-new movie mode will support 21: 9 aspect ratio for video.  With the new resolution, the presence of more than 10 movie filters with multiple pre-loaded movie templates will give users a real sense of cinematic production.

In addition, Oppo said that this new model will also allow users to adjust the shutter speed with exposure compensation.  Some other parameters can also be observed to simplify recording.

3.Oppo’s Camera SDK: Third-party support

Oppo is one of the very few companies that allow third parties to use software development kits.  It also allows us to continue using the features of the stock camera app.  The company continues the trend with the new ColorOS 7.2.

Oppo said that with the new SDK version, it has opened up access to super-wide-angle mode, the anti-shake mode in third-party applications in the video.

The company hopes that access to stabilization features such as super-stable mode will enable third-party applications to shoot clear video.

4. AI repair on the Camera app

OPO also emphasized the application of an AI in correcting blurred old photographs.  It added that users who have a habit of clicking old-fashioned photographs for memories can now improve the originally blurred and noisy portrait image to be more clear with the help of AI.

5. Algorithm to pre-launch apps

Oppo seems to have improved the AI's response to the new ColorOS 7.2.  The company said the updated algorithm reacts to your daily usage habits, predicts trends, and even pre-launches some applications when you need them.  It is also mentioned that the new AI app will greatly improve start-up time.

6. Super Power Saving mode

Oppo said the new power-saving mode would have a more rigorous approach to the last minutes of the battery's discharge cycle.  It added that by turning on this mode, users can continue to use basic functions when filtering demand applications.  In addition, the company stated that the new power-saving mode consumes 5% of battery when using only 1.5% of the popular WeChat application.

As of the rollout timeline, there is no official word yet.  Oppo said that the new Color OS 7.2 is exclusive and comes out of the Reno 4 Series box.  Since the new update focuses more on the camera, we'll have to wait and see if it affects older devices in the future
